David Laird has a proven track-record of fighting for the less fortunate in our community. Now, as part of Tom Mulcair’s team, he’s ready to be a strong voice in Parliament for everyone who calls Burlington home.

David currently works for The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, where he advocates on behalf of children and families. He has held several key positions since joining the CAS in 1990.

David is also Vice President of CUPE Local 2316, North America’s largest child protection local union. He is a certified Health & Safety Representative and has a history of advocating for clients and colleagues in the workplace.

For the last fifteen years, David has become increasingly active in our community—promoting positive solutions on complex issues such as clean energy, affordable childcare, social equality and human rights.

Along with his wife Guylaine and children Brigitte and Justin, David is a proud resident of Burlington. Born and raised in the GTA, he earned his B.A. in English Literature from York University.
